Sophie Fraser

Hospitality Specialist, Researcher Extraordinaire and Marketing Executive

Soph is fresh out of university, having recently graduated from Oxford Brookes in International Hospitality Management. From a young age she has loved being creative and developed a focus on hospitality development at university. Winning two major competitions while studying, she took part in one, based in Amsterdam, that required presenting future hospitality trends and creating a restaurant concept that met complex criteria. The other was more entrepreneurial in nature - a "Dragons Den Competition". Soph pitched her travel business concept to four leading hospitality 'dragons' and won, beating 20 other students.

Working in the UK and abroad has given her invaluable experience. The Marriott in Kensington was a great experience where she got to understand corporate and leisure guest expectations. After working at the Hilton in America's deep south, from their southern fried chicken to Nascar races, she moved to a more cosmopolitan destination - New York City. Working for an eco events management and marketing company (Global Kinect) demanded high standards of work that continually stretched the boundaries of sustainability. However, they say 'if you can work in the American hospitality industry... you can work anywhere'!

What keeps her motivated is "being able to work in and develop the UK hospitality industry... who wouldn't like working with food and drink with a side of creativity?!"
