Those of you battling with a begrudged New Year’s resolution, you have my condolences. So far my attempts to quit smoking are going very well, however I have a trick up my sleeve: replace the out-going vice with something less harmful and costly. My weapon of choice has been more food, supplemented with the occasional more drink.
I recently discovered that only 8% of people achieve their resolutions and can only presume that is because too many of us are exorcising every last bad habit from our lives in one go.
With this in mind I have chosen (in no particular order) my 3 favourite January campaigns that offer an alternative from the slew of wellness and detox offers available.
Be At One – #TryJanuary
It’s refreshing that Be At One has offered an alternative to the countless abstinence orientated Dry January campaigns.
#TryJanuary, encourages customers to sample a new cocktail every day, through their Appi Hour mobile app.
Wahaca – #SpoonAmnesty
Given the chance I would eat all of my meals with a brightly coloured plastic spoon and so it’s little surprise to me that over 4,000 are pilfered from Wahaca every year.
This January their sticky fingered customers are offered “another chance to seek absolution” by returning the spoons, in exchange for a free plate of Tacos.
Cabana – #BeachBumSundays
Simple: dine in your beach gear on a Sunday during January and the Caipirinha’s are on Cabana!
According to sales and marketing manager Lizzy Barber, “We ran #BeachBumSundays this year to bring a bit of Brasil’s sunshine to the doom and gloom of January in the UK.”
I can say first hand that it definitely brightened up my recent visits to Westfield Stratford branch!
