UK Hospitality Hits A Home Run At Christmas

Ignite's clients announce incredible Christmas trading profits

In the midst of a challenging trading environment for the hospitality sector, UKHospitality have reported like-for-like sales rising 4.1% on last year’s Christmas, and just two weeks into 2019, and we’re already seeing some exceptional trading results from our clients.

Closer to home, like-for-like sales increases over the festive period were reported at D&D London at 11% and ETM Group at 13.1%!

One figure that really stood out to us was D&D’s like-for-like sales on Christmas Day, which increased 20% on the previous year. Sounds like a very Merry Christmas indeed!

While we’ll be expecting to hear more great news of this ilk through the rest of January, we wanted to take this opportunity to say congratulations to all of our clients who traded well during December. We know how hard they worked and it paid off in spades.

Ignite’s Marketing and Account Director, Naomi Davies, says:

It’s really encouraging to see such positive Christmas sales from our clients. The hospitality market is so tough right now and Christmas is key, so we need to get it right. Pre-booked covers drove the majority of revenue for our clients, which demonstrates how important it is to have a solid, conversion-focused marketing plan in place, which delivers those valuable bookings.

It’s not just about pre-bookings either! Check out our work on Pho’s viral, hangover beating Christmas campaign!

The Ignite team are already planning some exciting campaigns for Christmas 2019 – we live by the motto, always be prepared! If you’d like to talk about how we can help your business drive bookings next festive season, get in touch today!
